Banana Republic has continued to impress me with their petite options lately. Their smart, business casual style compliments petite frames with solid colors, classic prints, and proportioned fits. Some items definitely work better than others though! Here are a few I’ve tried in store lately:

BR dresses are typically too long on me, but this mini hits above my knees! The pattern and colors are lovely - hard to show in the dressing room lighting, but it’s an almost-black navy with white flowers accented by touches of pink. The drop waist style was fun and more flattering than I’d expected. It was also lined. The downside? The arm holes were quite large on me, so this dress may be best for someone 5ft and up or willing to get it tailored.
Petite Color Blocked Shift Dress
I’ve been eyeing this dress online for ages and finally tried it on since it’s on sale. I absolutely LOVE the black and white color block design. It’s so modern and versatile! Sadly, I can’t recommend this dress. The fit is just too wrong in too many places. The zipper doesn’t go all the way up the back and gapes open. The shoulders are uncomfortable and noticeably tight, and I wouldn’t size up due to the extra width of the shift style in the waist and skirt areas. Hopefully they release a better fitting variation!
Petite Floral Strappy Camisole
Hello, perfect spring and summer cami! The length of this blouse is just as I’d like. The tiny scale of the flowers make a busy print petite friendly, and it would like fabulous as a statement under a solid blazer or worn alone. I love that it’s even lined in a matching light purple. This one is a winner for me, and I purchased it!

Another great find! The smallest size of these pants fit me like a glove. The are certainly not the intended ‘ankle length’ on me but work well as a regular length. They were almost too tight in the hips, but the stretchy material compensated just enough. I would stick with this size because of how good the legs fit. Beware the side zipper - I definitely went too fast and pinched my skin when taking these off! I wish these had pockets, but I do plan to buy these when they’re on sale to add some variety to my jeans-centric wardrobe.
I typically have the most success with blouses at Banana Republic, less so with their dresses. This was actually the first time I’d tried on any of their pants, so I’m super excited about the good fit. Shopping tip - if it’s not on sale, don’t buy it! While there is a risk you could miss out on the item, BR typically has amazing sales on weekends via their website.
