There are great deals to be had on summer dresses in the fall, and they can still be very wearable in the cooler weather. Urban Outfitters tends to be a little too loose and low cut for my style, but every so often I spot a piece that's just right. This dress has a simple cut but includes key features I look for as a petite - above the knee length, fit and flare style that nips in at the waist, and adjustable straps!

This mini dress also comes in navy and medium blue vertical stripes, or white and light blue stripes. Both would be great for petites, but the green was my first choice for its season flexibility. It's a beautiful deep and saturated tone, combined with fun white polka dots. The traditionally festive color means it will fit right in at Christmas and holiday gatherings.

It also goes well with dark leggings so you can stay warm (try H&M's three quarter xs leggings). Add black ankle boots to complete the look and protect your feet from the weather while keeping the appearance of longer legs. Sam Edelman's Petty ankle boots are one of my favorites (see them with TNA's Landline dress in my previous post), available down to a size 4 for small feet.

While not everything at Urban Outfitters will be petite friendly, there are definitely options to be found. I've been eyeing this red and green plaid dress too, and the Sasha Mini Duffle purse (I can also spend forever browsing their home and decor section). I hope they continue to release new pieces that work for us shorter ladies.
