How to Find Snowshoes for Petites with Small Feet

I went snowshoeing for the first time over the Christmas holidays! As snowshoes aren’t too expensive, I wanted to buy my own pair rather than rent. I thought it’d be difficult to find a specialty item like snowshoes that fit me, particularly last minute. Fortunately, it was way easier than I expected! There are quite a few petite friendly options so you can hit the trail and feel comfortable too.

Brandy Melville One-Size-Fits-All Plaid Dress

One size fits all - that deceiving size that really doesn’t fit all! Being particularly short, I would never have guessed that one-size-fits-all could fit me.  I saw this plaid dress on a mannequin in the window display of Brandy Melville though, and just had to go in and try it.  I'd never been in Brandy Melville before, but the length of this dress looked...

Nic and Zoe Perfect Tank

It's a bit cheeky for a brand to name one of their items "perfect," but Nic + Zoe really nailed it with this tank!  A simple skinny jean with a pop-of-color top is one of my favorite looks, and this a great tank for achieving that style.  Similar shirts can be found at stores such as H&M and Topshop, but this one stands out for...

Petite Workout Wear: LuluLemon

LuluLemon has a reputation for being expensive, and has faced quite a number of quality concerns.  So why do I keep going back?

It's easier to find motivation for exercising when I've got a fabulous workout outfit, and I'm willing to spend a little extra money and time on caring for my clothing if it helps keep me healthy.  LuluLemon carries clothing options that are stylish, incredibly comfortable, and, perhaps most importantly, FIT great...

In Store Review: Laura Petites - Rhinestones and Patterns

July 09, 2016

Note: this store only ships within Canada currently.

Had a look in Laura Petites the other day!  I'm always really excited to visit a store (in this case, half a store) dedicated to petite-sized clothing.  Nothing in particular struck my eye on this visit, though.  Their sizing seems quite large for a petite line: there was a lot of extra fabric pinned together at the back in order to fit the mannequins.

I also saw many patterns that were busy and printed quite large.  This can look very overwhelming on petites, especially for those of us on the smaller end of the petite spectrum.

Another trend in the store was rhinestones.  I try to avoid rhinestones as they can look childish or matronly;  neither classic nor fashion-forward.  But if you realllly love rhinestones, at least aim for a simpler fabric that doesn't include a busy printed pattern.

There are rhinestones on the top pictured above, and here's a sampling of even more.  I felt like they were everywhere I looked in this store!

Their website does seem to carry a few promising tops, in much more petite-flattering cuts and patterns: (option 1)  (option 2)  (option 3)

The pricing is reasonable and I would consider giving these a try-on if I spotted them in the store, but I wouldn't order online as sizing is risky and there's a high likelihood of needing to exchange or return.  Overall, this is not a store I would frequent as there aren't many options for my style or body type.
