It's that glorious time of year again - the Nordstrom anniversary sale is on! It's hard to think about winter coats and cozy sweaters in the middle of July, but there are great deals to be had on cooler weather wardrobe staples. There are even shoes starting at size 4 on sale for those of us with small feet. The sale is on now through August 5th, but items can sell out quickly. Don't wait if you see something you really want!
I've been questing for a leather jacket for awhile now. I was super excited when I spotted this petite-sized one by Halogen hanging on a sale rack! I love grabbing items off the rack and quickly throwing them on in front of a mirror. Wear a simple tank top so you can easily try on clothes without waiting for a dressing room, and carry a tote purse you can pack your cardigan in so you don't risk forgetting it lying on the floor somewhere. (I'm wearing a Nic + Zoe tank which is also on sale, see it in blue in my earlier review post).

The shoulders of this jacket fit great! The sleeve length is a teeny bit too long but I could live with it. The material is thick and feels like it would make a nice warm outer layer in the fall. Particularly when zipped up, it's too boxy for my taste though. I found the width to look out of balance on my petite figure. If you've got a short torso but longer legs, or are a bit taller than me, this may be a look you can rock.

Another item that caught my eye is this blue gingham mini dress by Madewell. I'm surprised it's part of the sale, as it is clearly a summer season dress! It's not a petite size but the length is perfect. The dress starts at size 00, and has a subtle waist accent band. The adjustable tie straps also help make it customizable and petite friendly. I'm definitely considering getting this dress!
